The Salvation Army - Metro Division Regional Keyed In Instructor in Columbia, Missouri
Come be part of a team that is "Doing the Most Good." The Salvation Army Columbia, MO is looking for a part-time, 25 hours per week, Regional Keyed In Instructor. Starting pay will be up to $25.00 an hour depending on education and experience.
The Regional Keyed In Coordinator will oversee the piano instructional program for the Columbia, MO Salvation Army. They will implement curriculum and provide piano lessons in a one on one format. The objective of the program is to enable students to excel quickly and consistently while giving them full attention, with the goal of developing piano leadership skills within the student body. Keyed In is designed to produce Salvation Army pianists who can accompany singing groups, congregational songs, participate in worship groups and perform offertories.
Execute the Keyed In program in conjunction with officers and staff of Columbia, MO Salvation Army units. Tasks for this program will include:
a) Establish a working curriculum for piano lessons to meet objectives of Keyed In program.
b) Organize and lead piano lessons from September through May
c) Manage expectations of student participants, including student piano participation at Salvation Army corps programs & special events.
d) Develop advanced students into piano teaching abilities.
e) Develop publicity materials, general promotion
f) Prepare recitals quarterly
Participate in regional music groups/events as directed by Regional Music Coordinator.
Handle all office responsibilities as they pertain to the Keyed In program, such as correspondence, record keeping and filing.
Maintain comprehensive records regarding piano lessons and student progress.
Work within the budget, submitting appropriate expense vouchers when required.

Preference given to Bachelor of Arts. Preference given to degrees in Music/Gospel Arts or related field. Experience as a religious piano accompanist. Two years’ minimum experience providing piano lessons with students of all ages and levels. A combination of
education and experience will be considered.
Familiarity with Microsoft office products, specifically MS Excel and MS Word. Demonstrated skill in all related styles of piano accompaniment. Ability to track student attendance, progress, and advancement. Skill in organizing recitals and preparing students to accompany singing.
Travel throughout Columbia, MO Salvation Army may be required. Must have current Driver’s License and must pass TSA MVR check.
