H&R Block, the world’s leader in tax preparation services, is looking to find an all-star to join our talent acquisition team as a Sr. HR Specialist, Talent Acquisition . At HRB, talent acquisition is a very important function! Our team helps to hire and onboard upwards of 70,000 seasonal professionals every year in addition to our regular hiring, which means we are a critical and valued part of our business. This position is located at our corporate headquarters, in the premier downtown Power & Light district of Kansas City, where everything is either steps or a streetcar ride away. As a Sr. HR Specialist on our Talent Acquisition team, you will provide project and recruitment support for our corporate recruiters to help ensure a best in class experience for our candidates and hiring managers. You will become a key point of contact and source of information for candidates as they move through the interview process and onboard into the company. You’ll also have the opportunity to use your creativity to help improve our team’s efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Oversee and coordinate various talent acquisition programs such as New Associate Orientation and our Summer Internship Program

  • Manage interview scheduling, including coordination of interviews, scheduling candidate travel, greeting candidates, providing company and area information, and maintaining exceptional communication with the interview team, recruiter, and candidate throughout the process

  • Coordinate with travel partners to ensure information is communicated accurately and timely

  • Review, update and post job requisitions within the applicant tracking system and to selected job sites

  • Assist recruiters with sourcing and screening of passive candidates via LinkedIn, Indeed, and other sites

  • Monitor candidate background check results, follow-up on delays, and use judgement to escalate internally when needed

  • Access and maintain HR and applicant tracking systems and databases to track and look up information and generate reports

  • Responds to talent acquisition related questions from associates; researches questions and communicates information; consults with subject matter experts to resolve more complex issues

  • Compile, track, analyze and summarize data for talent acquisition programs and processes, leveraging Excel and PowerPoint

  • Provide campus recruitment and community event support

  • Create and constantly improve administrative processes

What you’ll bring to the team…

  • HS diploma or higher and 2+ years experience in a similar role

  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Top notch verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Strong initiative, self-drive and motivation

  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy, thoroughness, and professionalism

  • High level of integrity and ability to maintain strict confidentiality of information handled

  • Ability to prioritize work in a fast paced and constantly changing environment
