Kelly Services in partnership with the Kansas City, MO and Lee's Summit, MO School Districts are recruiting for Substitute Teachers. \n \nSubstitute Teachers are critical to the success of our Education system and they provide a valuable service in supporting Classroom Teachers, Educators and Students. \n \nPurpose: A substitute teacher is responsible for providing instruction, classroom management, and promoting student learning in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. \n \nDuties and Responsibilities: \n \n \n\t \n\tTeaches scheduled classes. Prepares a written summary of work completed. \n\t \n\t \n\tAssumes all duties and responsibilities of the absent teacher \n\t \n\t \n\tFollows the teacher’s written lesson plans. Consults with the principal and/or staff to resolve questions and/or concerns. \n\t \n\t \n\tComplies with all building procedures and schedules. Promotes the proper use and care of school property. \n\t \n\t \n\tMakes the absent teacher aware of special situations and problems encountered. \n\t \n\t \n\tFollows all administrative procedures. \n\t \n\t \n\tImplements effective pupil management procedures. Maintains high standards and upholds the student conduct code. Intervenes and/or reports concerns to an administrator. \n\t \n\t \n\tDevelops and maintains a positive learning environment. \n\t \n\t \n\tWorks cooperatively with staff \n\t \n\t \n\tRespects personal privacy. Maintains the confidentiality of privileged information. \n\t \n\t \n\tTake precautions to ensure/staff student safety. Does not leave students unattended. \n\t \n\t \n\tSupervises non-classroom duties when assigned \n\t \n\t \n\tAccepts personal responsibility for decisions and conduct \n\t \n\t \n\tPerforms other specific job-related duties as directed. \n\t \n\t \n\tRemain flexible and willing to complete duties unrelated to original position \n\t \n\t \n\tMay include working with students with special needs \n\t \n \n \nMinimum Qualifications: \n \n \n\t \n\tCollege degree and/or minimun of 60 college credit hours \n\t \n\t \n\tMust be at least 18 years of age \n\t \n\t \n\tAbility to follow both oral and written directions and instructions. \n\t \n\t \n\tAbility to communicate in both oral and written means. \n\t \n\t \n\tAbility to effectively present information and respond to students and staff \n\t \n\t \n\tAbility to handle stressful situations \n\t \n\t \n\tAbility to maintain confidentiality of student matters \n\t \n\t \n\tAbility to effectively manage time and responsibilities \n\t \n\t \n\tAbility to be professional in appearance, attitude and demeanor. \n\t \n\t \n\tAbility to lift, sit, or stand for long periods of time \n\t \n \n \nWhy Kelly®? \n \nAt Kelly Services®, we work with the best.
