The Training Specialist – Food & Beverage Service is responsible for needs assessment, development, facilitation and certification of initial on-the-job training, as well as ongoing staff development.
This individual will design, develop and deliver training that transfers critical knowledge, develops technical and strategic skills in our Associates and drives behavior change.
Will continually evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and ensure training meets business needs and objectives.
This associate will support operations, and the build and implementation for new initiatives, integration efforts, enhancements and upgrades to existing training for the teams supported.
The individual will plan and analyze the functional and business support of specific learning needs and works closely with department leaders, numerous internal support teams, and third parties to ensure the successful development and integration of the learning deliverables.
Build, facilitate, and evaluate department-specific training programs.
Create and maintain certification tracking system for both industry-compliant and OJT programs.
Partner with department leaders to ensure training is continually evolving to meet and exceed departmental and resort goals and standards.
Partner with H.R./Training Department team members to accomplish team goals.
Cross train with other members of the team for facilitation of various training programs.
Collaborate with subject-matter experts to design and develop effective learning solutions.
Must be able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Build learning items from analysis, design and storyboard, through development of final deliverable.
Related administrative duties.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Training/instructional design and development experience is preferred
Food & Beverage Service experience is a plus
Spanish speaking is a plus
BS/BA degree is a plus
Skills and Knowledge
Writing - Communicating effectively in writing is essential. Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in research and work related documents.
Oral Comprehension - The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
Law and Government - Knowledge of employment-related laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, etc.
Clerical - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
Analytical/Critical Thinking - The ability to gather and organize information using a logical and systematic process; recognize patterns and relationships in complex data; examine data to identify implications, problems and draw appropriate conclusions; generate alternative solutions to problems; evaluate strengths, weaknesses and consequences of alternative solutions and approaches to solving problems.
Education and Training - Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing guest and customer services. This includes needs assessment to meet quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Number Facility - The ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly.
Originality - Must be flexible and open to using a variety of innovative approaches
