This is a Global Biologics Business Unit Training leadership role which is responsible for establishing the training program; including; harmonizing key curriculums across the business unit, how we deliver Technical Training, and how we certify staff to perform work. The objective of the role is to significantly improve the right first time performance of our staff and to reduce the time to train qualified staff. The leader will have dotted line responsibility for a global matrixed team that is overseeing the creation, implementation, and delivery of training across all of the Biologics sites. Initially, it will be very important to collaborate with a variety of global stakeholders and sites across the business unit and corporate quality groups to leverage people, process, facilities and equipment to establish a scalable future state with clear vision, goals and roadmap. An important part of the process to deliver a roadmap will be the prioritization of the work based on the priorities for the Business Unit. As the leader, you’ll be responsible for evolving and driving the existing training programs at the sites by working with the existing training functions across the different departments. An important part of the role will be assessing the necessary investments in 2019 and beyond to deliver the roadmap. Working with the Bioprocess Sciences Team will be vital to ensuring that future training is aligned with the Technology Development being planned for the Business Unit. This role will also be responsible for assessing and identifying new approaches for training (dedicated training facilities, external partnerships, digital technologies to reduce high cost, etc) in addition to the traditional classroom and shop floor trainings with the goal of certifying more staff faster.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Owner and driver of the Technical Training strategy and future state.

  • Lead and direct a global training team to deploy the new program as it is developed.

  • Represent the Biologics Business Unit for all corporate initiatives involving the tracking, reporting, and governance of training, particularly cGMP training.

  • Provide key support for timely, effective and quality training to service leaders across the business, driving a standard of highly supported, and fully competent service professionals.

  • Establish programs to effectively satisfy customer, partner, and regulatory expectations of training and modify procedures or training based on trends or issues identified

  • Partner with Site leaders to ensure effective, efficient and impactful execution of learning & development solutions for their respective teams. This includes travel as necessary to understand and align with the sites.

  • Ensure that all required employee training, mentoring, certification and re-certification is communicated and launched.

  • Operate in a highly complex, highly matrix-ed business environment integrating business goals within the Pharma Services Group Training programs

  • Research industry trends, concepts, and techniques for delivering high quality learning experiences to diverse audiences; Facilitates learning programs to audiences globally within Biologics Minimum Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree required; an MBA or equivalent consulting/working experience is strongly preferred, global services background preferred

  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive career growth and experience leading a learning and development organization with service experience

  • Global experience strongly preferred

  • Hands-on and consultative approach and demonstrated capability to influence others towards a common goal

  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills with ability to interact with various levels within the organization

  • Solid internal and external customer service focus

  • Experience and detailed understanding of training & certification process elements with the ability to convey importance to a diverse audience who may have cultural differences.

  • Business Acumen skills (demonstrates broad business knowledge)

  • Strong planning and organizational skills

  • Strong Ability to influence internal and external management at the highest levels

  • Analytical skills (interpretation, problem solving, etc.)

  • Self-starter, with a high level of motivation and strong interpersonal skills

  • Able to travel up to 40% domestically, Europe and Asia
