This position is in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases. This position is for the Medical School Campus.

Although the position is based in St. Louis, the objective requires some international travel to developing countries.

Essential Functions

The Infectious Diseases Division of the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis has support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to develop novel antigen and antibody assays for onchocerciasis and lymphatic filariasis. We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow to perform laboratory research on diagnostics of filarial parasites. The successful applicant will have extensive experience in molecular biology, immunology, protein biology and mass spectrometry. Knowledge in computational biology, parasitology or microbiology would be helpful. The fellow will work together with a large group of scientists from different disciplines, is expected to advise technicians and students and will help to coordinate a larger project. The candidate should have strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals in a field relevant to the project.

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. degree.
  • Extensive experience in parasitology or microbiology, molecular biology and genomics.
  • Strong publication background in peer-reviewed journals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluent in English and working knowledge in French would be an advantage.

Salary Range

Base pay commensurate with experience.
