This position is in the Department of Surgery, Division of Public Health Sciences. This position is for the Medical School Campus.

Essential Functions

The Division of Public Health Sciences at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis invites applications for a postdoctoral research associate position in the area of cancer health disparities and health service research. The successful candidate will work primarily with Dr. Ying Liu and join a research team with multidisciplinary expertise, including cancer epidemiology and spatial epidemiology, Geographic Information Systems, health service research, cancer health disparities, cancer-related health behaviors, and clinical cancer treatment. Projects were funded by the NIH and the American Cancer Society to understand the factors across patient-, provider- and neighborhood-levels that are associated with treatment quality and outcomes in breast cancer patients. The postdoctoral research associate will have opportunities to collaborate on secondary data analyses, interdisciplinary research, and to gain experience in grant writing. The position will start in December of 2019.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree (M.D., Ph.D., or equivalent).
  • Excellent skills in data statistical analysis, manuscript writing, and communication.

Preferred Qualifications

Training and/or research experience in public health, epidemiology, social medicine, health service research, and/or health disparities.

Salary Range

Base pay commensurate with experience.
