Job Type/Schedule This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week. Department Name/Job Location This position is in the Department of Human Resources. This position is for the Medical School Campus. Essential Functions POSITION SUMMARY: Work with team to plan, develop, recruit for, and enable the successful operation of medical/clinical apprenticeship programs within the School of Medicine including recruitment and training. Identify candidate and funding sources for medical apprenticeships. Identifies recruitment sources, recruits, interviews, and helps managers select the best-qualified candidates to fill selected job opportunities within the School of Medicine. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Functions as planner, developer, recruiter and trainer for workforce training and medical apprenticeships. 2. Develop and deliver training programs for medical apprenticeships. 3. Develop program curriculum (e.g. certification review, preparation for credentialing exams, etc.) and mechanics of classroom instruction, function as primary trainer in medical apprenticeship classroom. 4. Develop and execute plans for recruitment of participants in medical apprenticeships. 5. Helps to identify opportunities for enhancement and growth of medical apprenticeship programs. 6. Assists in establishing and maintaining relationships with organizations in the community involved with related medical apprenticeship programs (e.g. US Department of Labor, Workforce Development St. Louis City, St Louis County, Urban League, etc.). 7. Promote apprenticeships with all managers in an effort to grow participation in the community and incumbent programs. Collaborates with Washington University Medical School HR on various projects and initiatives related to apprenticeships and recruitment. 8. Helps to establish effective recruitment and selection processes of candidates for apprenticeships, documents all processes, and ensures full use of technology to ensure efficient management of the applications received and appropriate follow up to candidates. Ensures applications, resumes and other data are maintained in accordance with federal and state laws and regulations. 9. Participates in outreach to establish a diverse applicant pool for apprenticeships and consults with hiring managers to help them understand and fulfill their diversity and affirmative action responsibilities. 10. Reports and tracks relevant apprenticeship metrics and other related reports as appropriate to satisfy funding requirements, evaluate program efficiency and guide in planning for future growth and direction. 11. Strategizes with teammates and management to determine and accomplish apprenticeship goals. 12. Promotes the University’s Affirmative Action efforts by identifying minority recruitment sources, knowing the Medical School’s AA goals and areas needing attention and sharing same with hiring managers. 13. Assists in the identification of apprenticeship issues and subsequent training to meet those needs. This includes coaching or conducting training on such issues as HR recruitment policies, sourcing techniques, effective interviewing, etc. 14. Advises departments on laws and policies on apprenticeship recruitment, employment and hiring. Provides guidance to management regarding compliance with federal or university applicant screening and tracking requirements. 15. May function as a recruiter to assigned departmental/job titles: Identifies recruitment sources, recruits, interviews, and helps managers select the best-qualified candidates to fill opportunities; provides on-going and constructive feedback to hiring managers, directors, faculty and candidates to ensure all receive outstanding customer service; provides suggestions for retention strategies and transitioning displaced employees as needed; functions as a first-line resource for the recruitment team as well as a liaison between the recruitment team and management staff. 16. Performs specific projects as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and three years of recruitment, apprenticeship training, and/or clinical work experience required. Preferred Qualifications * Experience in clinical recruitment. * Experience in clinical training and *knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology. * * General Human Resources or Employee Relations experience preferred. * Broad general knowledge of Human Resources areas to include compensation, benefits, and employee relations policies and regulations. * Strong knowledge of Human Resources recruitment policies and regulatory issues. * Strong communication and listening skills and high level of perception when dealing with others. * Good knowledge of University and Medical School culture. * Ability to work with highly confidential information and materials. * Effective organizational and skills. Salary Range The hiring range for this position is $56,472 - $73,403 annually.
